11 May Why I’m Versatile not Virtual
I’m the first to admit that my title causes some confusion. Most people have heard of a Virtual Assistant but very few have heard of a Versatile Assistant. So I thought I would take this opportunity to explain why I’m Versatile not Virtual!
I started out as virtual but as most people do in business, discovered myself along the way and really defined what I love to do and more importantly, what I’m really good at.
But I still get that question. “What’s a Versatile Assistant?”
Well, to simplify it, it’s an assistant who is versatile in their abilities and their work space.
As a Virtual Assistant, I would work remotely. A business owner would call me and ask if I can sort out their emails or spreadsheets or whatever it is they need doing and I would do it from my own office.
These are brilliant people by the way. A really effective way of getting the work done without the hassle of employing someone.
The problem is, I don’t like working on my own. I come from a very corporate background and although I don’t want to be in that environment anymore, I miss the buzz of working in an office, with real people.
So, now I come to you!
What that means is that the services I offer are more extensive. I can still do your general administration, but I can also tidy your paperwork, organise your filing system and anything else that needs doing in your office.
Sometimes what you need is an admin assistant in the office to physically carry out the work. A virtual assistant won’t always offer that service where I can.
Of course, there are occasions I need a desk but hey, I’m versatile. I have a laptop and quite like sitting on the floor!!!
I like to have human contact. As much as technology is a huge part of my business, I don’t want it to be my only friend!
By allowing me to come in to your environment, I am able to get a real feel as to who you are and the way you work and that enables me to build a better relationship with you.
That’s why my “Kate Days” are one of my favourite services. I get the variety of different clients and different environments every day. I get to be excited about where I’ll be working next. How cool is that?
Hope that clarifies it. Virtual Assistants are amazing people but let’s face it, there’s only one Versatile Assistant!!! 😉
